Car detailing receipt template
A receipt tells your customer what they paid for, when and how, and gives you both a record of the job. Fill in the template below and print it, save it as a PDF or download it as a spreadsheet. Further down: what a detailing receipt needs, and a filled-in example.

Free, and no signup. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere or saved: it stays on this page, in your browser, and it's gone when you close or reload the page. So print it, save it as a PDF (choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog) or download the spreadsheet before you leave.

Receipt or invoice: which one do you need?
An invoice asks for money. It says what the customer owes, how to pay and by when. A receipt says the money arrived. It says what was paid, when and how. If the customer hasn't paid yet, you want the detailing invoice template. If they just handed you cash in the driveway, you want this one.
What every detailing receipt needs
- Your business details. Name and phone, so the customer knows who was paid and how to reach you.
- Receipt number and date paid. So you can find it again, and so can they.
- How it was paid. Cash, card, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App or PayPal.
- Customer and vehicle. The customer's name and the vehicle detailed (year, make, model, color).
- Itemized services. Each service on its own line with its price.
- Subtotal, tax, total paid. Show the math. If you collect sales tax, give it its own line.

Keep the paperwork in one place
In Fourth Bucket the record starts at the quote: the AI drafts it from a photo of the car, priced from your own service menu, and you approve every number. Once the customer accepts it you turn it into an invoice with one tap, at the final amount you confirm. Paid in cash or some other way? Mark it paid. Invoices, and quotes you price yourself, are free on every account.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a receipt and an invoice?
An invoice asks for money: here's what you owe, and how to pay. A receipt says the money arrived: here's what you paid, when and how. Send the invoice before you're paid and the receipt after.
Is this receipt template free, and is what I type saved anywhere?
It's free, with no signup. What you type stays on this page, in your browser: it isn't sent to us or to anyone else, and it's gone when you close or reload the page.
What should a car detailing receipt include?
Your business name and contact info, a receipt number, the date paid, how it was paid, the customer's name, the vehicle, each service with its price, any tax, and the total paid.
Do I need to put sales tax on a detailing receipt?
It depends on your state and local rules, and some places tax detailing services while others don't. Check your local requirements. If you collect it, give it its own line so the customer can see it.
